Privacy Policy

This page explains what information this website collects, why we collect it, where it goes, and how to ask us to change or delete it. It is written in plain English because that is how we would want to read it.

Who we are

Levi Pro Craft is a small craftsmanship business owned and run by Levi Miller in Carlsbad, California. This website (leviprocraft.com, and the staging copy at levi.bluefrog.ai) exists so neighbors in North County San Diego can see Levi's work and get in touch about a project. We are the "business" responsible for the information described below. Contact details are at the end of this page.

What we collect, and how

We only collect information you choose to give us, plus the small amount of technical data any website receives when you load a page.

Information you send through the inquiry form

The contact and project forms on this site ask for:

  • Your name, phone number, and email address (required, so we can reply).
  • Your city or ZIP code (required, so we know whether you are in our service area).
  • The type of project and a description of it (required).
  • Your ideal timeline and preferred contact method (optional, full form only).
  • Photos of the space (optional, full form only, up to five images).
  • A separate, unchecked box asking whether we may occasionally email you project ideas and seasonal maintenance tips. Leaving it unchecked has no effect on your inquiry.

We also record the page you sent the form from and the time it was sent, and we use a hidden anti-spam field that real visitors never see or fill in.

Information collected automatically

  • Server access logs. Our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, referring page, date and time). These are the host's ordinary operating records. We use them only to keep the site working and to investigate abuse.
  • Rate-limit records. To stop automated form spam, the site briefly records that a submission came from a given network address. These records are short-lived and are not linked to your inquiry.
  • Analytics (production only, and only if configured). We may use Google Analytics 4 on the live site to understand which pages people find useful. If it is enabled, it loads with consent defaulted to denied for analytics and advertising storage, and with IP anonymisation on, so it does not set tracking cookies or store your full IP address unless you grant consent. We do not run analytics on the staging site.

Information we do not collect

  • No payment card or bank information. Payments for any work happen outside this website.
  • No account registration, passwords, or profiles for visitors.
  • No precise location data from your device.
  • No information from anyone under 16. This site is for adult homeowners and property managers. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.

Categories of information

The table below uses the categories California law refers to, so you can see at a glance what applies to this site and what does not.

How we use it

  • To reply to you about your project by whichever method you asked for, and to schedule a visit or send a proposal.
  • To send a confirmation email that we received your inquiry, where email sending is set up.
  • To keep the website secure and stop spam.
  • To send occasional project ideas and maintenance tips by email, only if you ticked the separate opt-in box.
  • To meet legal obligations, such as keeping basic business records.

We do not use your information for profiling, automated decisions, or advertising.

Where your information goes

  • Our web host. Form submissions are saved on the server that runs this site, which is hosted by GoDaddy in the United States. The host also keeps the access logs described above.
  • Email. Each inquiry is emailed to Levi at leviprocraft@gmail.com (a Google account), and a copy of your submission may be emailed to the address you gave. The email service used to send those messages processes them in transit.
  • Analytics provider. If Google Analytics 4 is enabled on the live site, Google receives the technical data described under "Information collected automatically," subject to the consent and anonymisation settings above.
  • Nobody else, unless the law requires it or it is needed to protect the safety or legal rights of a person or of the business. If Levi ever brings in a trade partner for part of your project, he will tell you directly rather than share your details behind your back.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have not done so in the past twelve months and have no plans to.

Cookies and similar tools

  • No advertising or tracking cookies. The public pages of this site set no cookies of their own.
  • One session cookie in the private admin area. The password-protected area Levi uses to manage projects and inquiries sets a session cookie so he stays logged in. Visitors never reach that area and never receive that cookie.
  • Analytics cookies only with consent. If analytics is enabled on the live site, it starts with analytics and advertising storage denied, so no analytics cookie is set unless you consent.
  • Self-hosted everything else. Fonts, images, scripts and styles are served from this site. We do not embed third-party fonts, maps, chat widgets or social feeds, so loading a page here does not send requests to those companies.

Links to our Nextdoor and LinkedIn pages take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies. We do not embed their trackers here.

Marketing email and text messages

Email. We send marketing email only to people who ticked the separate opt-in box. Every such email identifies who it is from, includes a working unsubscribe link, and we honour unsubscribe requests promptly. This is what the federal CAN-SPAM Act requires, and it is also how we would want to be treated. Replies to your inquiry are not marketing email and do not need the opt-in.

Text messages. We text you about your inquiry only if you chose "Text message" as your preferred contact method or otherwise asked us to text you. We do not send marketing texts. Under the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) you can withdraw that permission at any time by replying STOP or by telling us, and we will stop.

How long we keep it

  • Inquiries (your form details and any photos) are kept while there is a business reason to have them: while we are talking about or working on your project, and for basic business records afterward. We delete them on request, as described below.
  • Marketing consent is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your record.
  • Rate-limit records expire automatically within a short period.
  • Server access logs are kept according to our host's standard rotation schedule.

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS. Form data is stored outside the web-readable part of the server, and the admin area is password protected. Submissions are checked and limited to prevent abuse. No website can promise perfect security, but we keep the amount of data we hold small and handle it with care.

Your choices and rights

Whoever you are and wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what information we hold about you and where it came from.
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
  • Delete your inquiry, photos and contact details.
  • Stop marketing email (use the unsubscribe link, or just ask).
  • Stop texts (reply STOP, or just ask).

To make any of these requests, email leviprocraft@gmail.com or call (858) 401-0053. We will confirm it is you (usually by replying to the email or phone number on the original inquiry) and act within 45 days, normally much sooner. We will never treat you differently for exercising these rights.

California residents

Most of our visitors are Californians, so here is where things stand under California law.

California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA). CalOPPA applies to any commercial website that collects personally identifiable information from California residents, so it applies to this one. It requires us to post a privacy policy that is conspicuously linked, that says what we collect and who we share it with, that explains how you can review and change your information, that describes how we respond to Do Not Track signals, and that shows its effective date. This page is that policy, and it is linked from the footer of every page.

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA. The CCPA's formal obligations apply to businesses that meet at least one of these thresholds: annual gross revenue above $25 million (as adjusted for inflation), buying, selling or sharing the personal information of 100,000 or more California consumers or households each year, or earning half or more of annual revenue from selling or sharing personal information. Levi Pro Craft is a one-craftsman business and does not currently meet any of those thresholds, so the CCPA's formal requirements do not apply to us. Even so, we honour its core rights voluntarily:

  • Right to know what we collect, use and disclose (this page, and the table above).
  • Right to delete your personal information, subject to any records we must keep by law.
  • Right to correct inaccurate information.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, and we will never start without updating this page first.
  • Right to non-discrimination. We will not deny you service or change how we treat you because you exercised a privacy right.

If we ever grow to the point where the CCPA applies, we will update this policy to include everything it requires. You can read about these laws at the California Attorney General's site, oag.ca.gov/privacy/ccpa, and at the California Privacy Protection Agency, cppa.ca.gov.

Shine the Light (Civil Code §1798.83). We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing, so there is nothing to report under this law.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal. There is no agreed standard for how websites must respond, and this site does not track you across other sites in the first place. Analytics, if enabled, already starts with storage denied regardless of the signal.

Visitors outside California

This site is intended for homeowners in North County San Diego. If you contact us from elsewhere, your information is handled exactly as described on this page and is stored in the United States.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes, such as adding a new tool that receives your data, will be called out in a short note here for at least 30 days. We will not apply a materially different policy to information we already hold without telling you.
