About Levi

Experience in design. Passion for building.

Levi Miller spent twenty years designing and managing buildings before he went back to the work he loved first: building things with his own hands. Levi Pro Craft is that second chapter, based in Carlsbad and serving North County San Diego.

The Story

From the drafting table to the job site

Levi earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oklahoma in 2004 and spent the next two decades in architecture and development firms in Oklahoma, Denver, and San Diego County. He worked as a project architect, senior job captain, and design and construction manager on student housing, multifamily buildings, and campus projects. In 2014 he became a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction.

That is a career spent deciding how buildings go together: how a post meets a beam, where water goes, which material will still look right in ten years. It is also a career spent mostly at a desk.

In 2024 Levi set up on his own in North County San Diego. In his own words: after twenty years in architecture, he decided to go back to working with his hands. Since then he has been building decks and pergolas, repairing wood rot and termite damage, doing stone work, mending fences, and refinishing teak furniture for his neighbors.

Whatever a homeowner needs, he looks for the best solution for them. That is the whole business plan.

Why It Matters

What an architect's background means for your project

Most outdoor work goes wrong in the planning, not the cutting. A pergola that is slightly too tall for the house, a deck with nowhere for water to drain, a repair that patches the symptom and misses the rot behind it. Levi has spent his working life catching those problems on paper, before they cost anyone money.

  • You get a design, not just a quote. Proportions, sightlines, shade, and how the new work meets the house are worked out before material is ordered.
  • Details are decided up front. Connections, fasteners, flashing, and finishes are chosen for the coast, then built to that plan.
  • Problems get diagnosed, not covered. Rot and termite damage are traced to the source and cut back to sound wood.
  • One person is accountable. The person who designs the work is the person who builds it and answers the phone.

How We Work

Four things you can count on

Trained eye

A Bachelor of Architecture and twenty years of drawing, detailing, and managing construction. Levi sees how a structure should go together before the first cut.

Hands-on, start to finish

You talk to Levi, Levi does the work. No sales rep, no handoff, no crew you have never met.

Built for the coast

Salt air, sun, and morning marine layer are hard on wood. Materials, fasteners, and finishes are chosen for North County conditions.

Respect for your home

Clean site, protected landscaping, honest timelines, and a finished product Levi is proud to put his name on.

Our Process

Simple, personal, and clear from the start

No sales script and no handoffs. Here is how a project with Levi usually goes.

  1. Tell us about your project

Call, text, or send a few photos through the form. Levi will ask the right questions about the space, the problem you are solving, and how you want to use it.

  2. Review the vision and scope

Levi walks the site, measures, and talks through options, materials, and finishes. You get a clear scope and a written proposal before anything starts.

  3. Craftsmanship in action

Levi does the work personally, keeps the site tidy, and keeps you in the loop. Details are decided with you, not for you.

  4. Enjoy the finished result

A final walkthrough, care notes for the materials used, and a space that is built to last in the coastal climate.
